About
The Revolutionary Communist International was formed as the International Marxist Tendency in 1992 as a split from the Committee for a Workers’ International (CWI) following a split in the UK CWI section, Militant. Following the expulsion of several Militant members from the UK Labour Party, there was disagreement in the tendency on the issue of continuing with the strategy of entryism. Prominent members, Ted Grant and Alan Woods split from Militant in opposition to its abandoning of entryism, forming Socialist Appeal. This split was also reflected in the international, with supporters of Grant in other countries forming the International Marxist Tendency.
It was renamed the Revolutionary Communist International in 2024.
