About
The Newtownabbey Labour Party originated in 1974 when the Newtownabbey branch of the Northern Ireland Labour Party left its parent organisation. It formed part of the short-lived Labour ‘87 party. It later took part in the Labour Coalition group for the Northern Ireland Peace Forum elections in 1996, with Mark Langhammer of NLP initially recognised as leader of the coalition until he failed to be elected. It was associated with Socialist Environmental Alliance in the 2000s.

Death of Dorothy Lynn 9 July 1973
By: Hannah (victims remembrance pictures) | 1st August 2018, 9:45am
I hope you will excuse me for getting in touch. I am trying to find a picture of the late Dorothy Lynn who was killed by a fire on a bus in Belfast on 9 July 1973. She was secretary of Belfast Labour Party and worked in a Youth Hostel. Her death anniversary passed and I noticed there was not a picture for remembrance, hence this message. Sorry to trouble you about this sad matter. Thank you. Hannah.

Hi, I checked the digitised Irish newspaper archive which includes Irish Press, Irish Independent etc. There's small pieces about Dorothy Lynn's death but no photographs of her. Best of luck with your search.
Auntie Dorothy

Dorothy Lynn was my Aunt she was a kind and loving woman. She was Married to Alan Lynn. He has now passed away. They had no children and where active in the youth hostel organisation and the boy Scouts. She was murdered in 1973. Dorothy left two sisters Francis and Grace and her Mother Also my Grandmother (Granny Anderson) My mother Grace is the only one remaining. Our family was devastated by the murder of Dorothy and as far as I can tell there has never been a valid investigation into this terrible crime. Dorothy was alive and in agony for five days after the incident. I'm sure I can provide a photo if you would like me to.
