The United Left was formed in 2013 by a number of independent left politicians including Clare Daly and Joan Collins. The party ran in the 2014 local elections, with one successful candidate.
The party appears to have been largely nominal, and was removed from the register of parties at the end of 2015, with both Daly and Collins being re-elected in 2016 as Independents 4 Change candidates.
