About
The Communist Party of Great Britain (Provisional Central Committee) is a political party in the UK. It publishes the Weekly Worker.
The CPGB (PCC) has its origins in the New Communist Party (NCP) and Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB). It began as a group around the publication The Leninist, who had originally been involved in the NCP split from the CPGB, but later sought instead to rejoin and influence the CPGB. This group operated in opposition to the leadership of the CPGB.
When the CPGB itself dissolved The Leninist Group announced that they would ‘reforge’ the party. Now calling themselves the Communist Party of Great Britain (Provisional Central Committee) they also operated in alliance with other groups and began to publish the Weekly Worker in print form and eventually online.
