About
The Socialist Republican Party was founded in 1944 by former Nationalist Party members, republicans and trade unionists. It produced a newspaper called Northern Star. Harry Diamond won a seat for the party in the NI elections in 1945. The party merged with the Irish Labour Party in 1949.
