About
Saor Éire was a Maoist influenced Irish Republican group in Cork, and a successor to the Irish Revolutionary Forces group. It published a journal entitled People’s Voice.
It merged with the Irish Communist Organisation (ICO) in 1971, though many of its members left to form the Cork Communist Organisation soon afterwards.
Please Note: This is a distinct organisation from the contemperanous, largely Dublin-based republican urban guerilla group, also called Saor Éire.
