Extinction Rebellion (XR) is an international environmental movement, formed in 2018 with the aim of using non-violent civil disobedience to force action to avoid tipping points in the climate system and ecological collapse.
Initially formed in the UK, XR now has groups around the world. It is a loose network, taking a decentralised and self-organising structure.
