The Alliance of Health Service Unions was a joint campaign against cuts in the health service in 1987.
Its actions included a march in Dublin on 21st May 1987, which was reported to have 15,000 marchers present.
It was supported by the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers’ Union, The Crafts’ Group of Unions, Federated Workers’ Union of Ireland, Irish Nurses Organisation, Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union, Local Government and Public Services Union, Medical Laboratory Technologists’ Association, National Nursing Council – ITGWU, and the Psychiatric Nurses’ Union.
