About
The Anti-Racism Campaign (ARC) was founded in 1997 by members of the Workers’ Solidarity Movement and the Socialist Party.
It described itself as:
…an open and democratic alliance of people who came together to combat the anti-refugee and anti-immigrant hysteria initiated and encouraged by politicians and the media. We support equal rights for refugees and immigrants; work, welfare, housing and entry into Ireland. We also oppose the racist treatment that has been experienced by travellers (an Irish ethnic minority).
