About
The Irish Political Review is a monthly publication first published in 1986. It is associated with the successor organisation of the British & Irish Communist Party (B&ICO), Aubane Historical Society, and the B&ICO publishing imprint, Athol Books.
It succeeded the B&ICO publication, The Irish Communist, which ceased publication in 1986.
From at least 2004, it carried mastheads for both IPR and Northern Star (and later was sub-titled “and Northern Star, incorporating Workers’ Weekly”). It also incorporates Labour Comment, typically on the back page, which was formerly a separate publication in Cork in the 1980s.
